I have tried to highlight the pencil signatures of previous owners. This makes them easier to read. This might make it easier for a relative to track down a book owned by an ancestor.
The main defects of this book focus on condition. First, it is missing the front and rear end pages. Next, if there was a frontispiece, it is missing. Next, the cloth dark green cloth covers are worn at the book’s corners and Pune ends. To its benefit, the gilt lettering and grape designs are still in good, legible condition. One signature is partially coming loose but still holding. Last, a number of pages show finger soiling with a couple of pages showing a few foxing spots. Most pages are clean and bright.
This book is an antique first edition, later printing of the book "Dream Life: A Tale of the Seasons" by Ik Marvel, published in New York by Charles Scribner in 1851.
This hardcover book falls under the subject of literature and fiction, with a focus on action and adventure during the phases of a man’s life.
It is an original edition in English, making it a valuable collectible for fans of classic North American literature.
