Beautiful antique French bronze religious medal designed by renowned sculptor and medallist Victor Peter (1840–1918).
The obverse depicts the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) resting beneath a radiant Eucharistic chalice and host inscribed with the JHS Christogram. The composition symbolizes Jesus Christ, the Holy Eucharist, sacrifice, redemption, and divine grace. The inscription “AGNUS DEI” surrounds the scene, while the artist’s signature “V. PETER” appears at the lower left.
A finely executed example of French religious medallic art, displaying strong sculptural relief and excellent detail.
