HL Data Storage BH40N Internal SATA Blu-Ray Disc Rewriter - Tested Working
This is an HL Data Storage (Hitachi-LG Data Storage) BH40N, a 5.25″ internal SATA Blu-ray disc rewriter commonly used as an OEM component in Dell and HP desktop systems. It reads and writes BD-R, BD-RE (including dual-layer), DVD±R/RW (including dual-layer), DVD-RAM, and CD-R/RW, with rated write speeds of 5x for Blu-ray, 16x for DVD, and 126x for CD. Tested and confirmed working — reads and writes optical media normally across supported formats. Included: the drive only. Not included: SATA data cable, power cable, or mounting screws unless separately confirmed. Compatibility note: this is a SATA interface drive for desktop towers, not a slim/laptop drive — confirm your system has a free SATA port and standard 5.25″ bay clearance before purchasing. Officially certified OS support per the manufacturer covers Windows 7, 8, and Server 2008 R2; it will generally function on newer Windows versions via standard AHCI/optical drivers, but isn’t officially certified for them.

Domestic Shipping Policy
- Within the Continental US, all items over $750 are shipped with free signature confirmation.
- In Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, items will be shipped Parcel Post for free. If you would like me to ship USPS priority mail, add $35 to the total cost.
- If you want to upgrade to USPS Priority, Express, UPS next day, 2nd day, or 3rd day shipment, you as the buyer are responsible for these costs. If these options are not available on my webpage, contact me, and we will make the desired shipping option(s) available.
- Be sure your shipping address is correct before paying with PayPal. Items must ship to the address provided by PayPal. I will NOT ship to a different address than the PayPal address.
International Shipping Policy
