Up for sale is an 8x10 photo of the Enola Gay SIGNED by its navigator Dutch Van Kirk. It was signed in blue marker. The Enola Gay dropped the uranium bomb (Little Boy Bomb) on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945. The plane was named after pilot Paul Tibbet’s mother. Mr. Van Kirk was the last surviving member of the Enola Gay’s mission to Japan and passed away in 2014. I do not know what year the photos was signed. The photo is in great shape and is not a copy of the signature (reprint).
This would make a nice addition for anyone that collects autographs from WWII veterans and the atomic bomb missions to Japan.
