1962 BMW R60/2 with American Easy Sidecar — Triple‑Matching VIN — Original Paint & Fresh Mechanical Service

Up for sale is a charming 1962 BMW R60/2 paired with a period‑correct American Easy sidecar. This is a triple‑matching VIN example (engine, frame, and ID tag) wearing its original, unrestored paint and 60+ years of patina and history.

This rig has a wonderful history. The previous owner bought the sidecar setup in the 1980s so he could ride his young son around town. After a few years of use, it was stored in a barn for decades. I helped him bring it back to life recently, and he was able to ride it again in his 80s — a moment he cherished until he passed away last year. I have been taking my kids on it for evening ice cream or local orchards.

Mechanical Refurbishment

The sidecar received: • New interior paint • New seat belt • New tire • Bearings repacked

The motorcycle received: • New coil • New points • New fuel lines • New tires and tubes • New solo seat • New rubber components • Battery is approximately 3 years old • Key for the gas‑tank storage compartment included

Major Service Performed

• Engine, transmission, driveshaft, and final drive fluids replaced • Valves adjusted • Point gap set • Carburettors cleaned and synchronized • Front and rear brakes cleaned and adjusted and more

Condition

• Starts easily hot or cold • Tracks straight — sidecar properly aligned • Odometer shows 11,062 miles (true mileage unknown) • Gas tank red liner in excellent condition • Original paint with patina, touch‑ups, small dents, and surface rust throughout the bike consistent with age, More photos available upon request.

Ride it as‑is and enjoy the vintage character, or take it further into restoration. A wonderful candidate either way.

Paperwork

• Current CT registration in my name • CT bill of sale (H‑31 and Q‑1) • CT does not issue titles for vehicles of this age
