Piece of fashion history and still usable today.  Glass 'pomade' shape glass jar which is 3 1/4" wide and 1 1/2" tall.  On the bottom is the original paper label which shows some wear.  Gives the information: Net Wt 2.3 OZ.  FACE POWDER, John Robert Powers (signature) Shade (worn) and John Robert Powers Products Co. Inc. Dist. New York.  On the inside the glue spots can be seen through the clear glass.  Lid  has the JRP famous signature pressed into the metal.  Jar is empty and clean.  The lid is pressed metal, probably steel which may be silver plated.  One area of scuffing (photographed). The lid screws on for security.  The company was famous for its models and natural look make up which was franchised and sold in up scale department stores.  The name was a symbol of elegance.  This would have been an important purchase and the empty jars used for pins and buttons.
