Excellent example of an early postwar Hornby Meccano clockwork train set No.51 in original box.

This set comprised an 0-4-0 loco and tender in British Railways lined green with early emblem numbered 50153, along with three tinplate four-wheeled coaches in crimson & cream livery.  Clockwork mechanism of the loco still working as it should.

Originalyly sourced from a house clearance where it had been stored away in a loft for over 60 years after being run a few times when new back in the 1950s. Extremely well preserved for its age.  Please take a good look at all photos to get a sense of just what a good example this is.  We generally do not stock much vintage Hornby O gauge, but this one was too nice to miss.  Certainly one of the best condition sets offered for sale today.

Comes in original box which has stood up very well considering how heavy the contents are.   A few small tears to the cardboard inserts but the lid and bottom are in very good shape.  

Comes with an oval of track, including four straights.  two packs of track joining clips included as well as three lamps in two original packets.  Winding key also included.

Will be very carefully wrapped and packaged inside and out to ensure it reaches its new owner in the condition shown here.
