Thompson's, 'Hand in Hand Figure Skating..' published in London, 1896. First edition.  

An interesting 19th century work, with chapters on early waltz sequences, edge combinations, and hand-holding positions. Featuring a large selection of crucial text diagrams and illustrative plates mapping out exact on-ice tracing patterns.​

12mo, bound in period dark half calf over orange buckram boards, gilt lettered to spine direct, initials of A.F.S to foot. Page edges marbled. Original black endpapers. Measuring approx 10cm by 14cm. 

The contents are complete,  meeting collation; vi, [1], 259pp. 
                                                                         
Condition: The binding is firm, hinges and joints solid, portion missing from upper third of backstrip as seen, spine ends chipped, general wear and abrasion to edges, otherwise good. Contents firmly bound, in good clean condition if a little toned, foxing round endpapers, light pencil ownership at head of half-title.
