The Allen-Bradley 1756-L72 is a Logix5572 processor module in the Bulletin 1756 ControlLogix 5570 family, programmed using the Studio 5000 Automation Engineering & Design Environment. It is compatible with ControlLogix chassis 1756-A4, 1756-A4K, 1756-A7, 1756-A7K, 1756-A10, 1756-A10K, 1756-A13, 1756-A13K, 1756-A17, and 1756-A17K, and supports controller redundancy when paired with an identical controller over ControlNet. This processor provides 4 MB of user memory and 0.98 MB of pre-allocated I/O memory, supporting up to 128,000 discrete I/O points and 4,000 analog I/O points. The 1756-L72 uses a capacitor-based Energy Storage Module (ESM) in place of a battery — the 1756-ESMCAP ships installed with the controller. Nonvolatile memory storage uses a Secure Digital (SD) card; a 1 GB 1784-SD1 card is included, with an optional upgrade to 2 GB via the 1784-SD2. The front panel features a 4-character alphanumeric display for real-time status indication.
