William Fenner [1600-1640].
English Puritan preacher and theologian. He studied at Cambridge University and became a minister in the Church of England before becoming a prominent Puritan preacher in the 1630's. Fenner was known for his powerful preaching style and his focus on the doctrines of grace, particularly the idea of predestination. He wrote several influential works, including 'The Song of Solomon's Epithalamium', a commentary on the biblical book of Song of Solomon. Fenner was also involved in the Puritan movement's efforts to reform the Church of England, and he played a role in the publication of the Westminster Confession of Faith. He died in 1640 at the age of 40.
Bound in an attractive recent half leather binding with marbled boards.
Spine with raised bands, blind lines and a gilt-lettered label.
