Up for sale is a watercolor by Dooley Dionysius, a Disney studo artist also known for his children's book illustrations (see brief bio below). Painting is framed in wood with an inner gold liner.

I acquired this about 10 years ago from Massachusetts dealer Lyla Gallery on the Ruby Lane antique seller site.

I believe the watercolor is on paper, but not certain.

Some age appropriate wear on the paper behind the image and to the frame but the painting itself is in very good condition.

Frame size is 10.5 by 11.5 inches, image size within the liner is 8 by 7 inches and painting size is 6 by 5 inches.

Born in St Louis, Missouri on June 17, 1907, Dionysius graduated from the St Louis School of Fine Arts in 1925. While a resident of Los Angeles in 1930-40, he worked in the art department of Disney Studios, and was the author-illustrator of Black Opal and Mother Goose Rhymes. His subject matter was mostly taken from mythology and fairy tales.He was a resident of Kirkwood, Missouri until his demise on Oct. 12, 1996
