This beautiful mid-century Ruth Gibbs "Meg" March doll is from the celebrated Play Friend / Godey's Little Lady storybook line. Produced in Flemington, New Jersey in the late 1940s or early 1950s, this 7-inch doll captures the literary character from Louisa May Alcott's Little Women. She features a hand-painted china shoulder head, porcelain limbs, and a clean cloth torso. She comes dressed in her complete original ensemble: a signature windowpane plaid cotton gown, net underskirt, matching net pantalettes, and her original felt bonnet with ribbon ties.

Packaging: Doll is unboxed (no original packaging).
In-Dress Handwriting: Features non-original, vintage handwriting in ink on the inside mesh of her undercoat that reads "Mrs. Wagoner 6/17/1970". This detail is entirely hidden when the dress is displayed naturally.
Bouquet Accessories: Includes her original miniature paper flower bouquet. A few delicate paper buds have detached over time; all loose pieces are preserved and safely bagged separately.
Fabric: Dress is structurally excellent with crisp ruffles. Two minor age spots on the under-ruffle are left untouched to preserve textile integrity.
Gold Slippers: Iconic painted gold slippers show light, expected paint thinning on the tips of her toes, typical for Ruth Gibbs dolls of this era.
