This is #12 (volume 3, number 4; October 1978) of the miniature wargaming magazine “Little Wars” (subtitled “The Journal for Historical Battle-Game Enthusiasts”). This magazine was (roughly) quarterly and was the size of an ordinary magazine. This magazine is in very good condition, and has been stored in a plastic sleeve with a cardboard backer, which is included. Each issue has articles on various aspects of historical war games and wargaming with lots of history on different wars and battles. The magazine was published by TSR (of Dungeons & Dragons fame). From what I can tell, TSR first published (in 1975) a small news sheet called “The Strategic Review” to advertise its products. That had only 7 issues before it was split into two actual magazines: “Little Wars” for the miniature wargaming content, and “The Dragon” for the D&D roleplaying content. The first four issues of “Little Wars” have the notation “Including The Courier” on the cover; “The Courier” became its own magazine in 1979 and was published (not by TSR) for several years. Unfortunately, while “The Dragon” took off and was published for many years, “Little Wars” had only 12 issues and folded in 1978. Check out my other listings for the other 11 issues of this magazine, too, plus issue 22 of “The Dragon” which includes the content that was going to be in “Little Wars” number 13 which never got produced; I'm always happy to send things together to save you postage if you buy more. Thanks for looking, and if you have any questions, just ask! (This description brought to you by my own mind, with zero “help” from AI, ever!)
