The Vintage Dietz Comet Kerosene Red Lantern is a collectible piece made in Syracuse, NY, USA. This lantern features a Dietz brand, a classic red color, and a glass globe, adding to its historical charm and authenticity.

The Dietz H-4 Comet Lantern was manufactured primarily in the 1950s. Originally introduced in 1934, it became widely recognized after World War II, particularly as the official lantern of the Boy Scouts. Most of the H-4 models available today date from the 1950s, although some earlier versions exist

This is a one owner lantern. This lantern was passed down to me by my late grandfather and it is in very good condition. When I received it I stored it in my tool shed out of the elements. I never used it and it has been sitting in my tool shed safe and dry for well over thirty years.

There are no dents, no rust, no abrasions. It just needs a very good cleaning if the new owner desires. The wick appears to have never been used as reflected by its white color. The wheel which moves the wick up and down turns smoothly.

I have attached a multitude of pictures to show what great vintage lantern this is.

The lantern is a piece of transportation and railroadiana memorabilia, making it a unique and sought-after item for collectors of vintage hardware and antiques.

This vintage lantern showcases the craftsmanship and quality of American-made products from the past.
