I purchased this from a family in New York that traveled all over the country racing for over 40 years along with many other auto racing related memorabilia that will be listed soon.

Up for sale is an incredibly rare piece of New York sports history: an authentic, vintage 1940s felt souvenir pennant from the short-lived auto racing era at the legendary Polo Grounds Stadium in NYC. While Manhattan's fabled stadium is universally celebrated for its baseball and football heritage, it briefly transformed into a high-octane dirt and board track for midget auto racing during the summers of 1940, 1941, and 1948. Because these races were fleeting, temporary events, souvenir production was extremely limited compared to decades of baseball games, making auto-related memorabilia from this venue nearly impossible to find today. Featuring striking, vibrant screen-printed graphics of early open-wheel sprint cars and the bold text "Polo Grounds Speedway / New York," this item is a holy grail crossover piece. It is the perfect anchor addition for elite collectors of vintage motorsports, early open-wheel racing history, or New York Giants baseball and historic stadium memorabilia. Don't miss this rare chance to own a scarce chapter of NYC sports lore!

This felt pennant measures approximately about 27 inches long by about 9 inches at widest point. Please inspect pictures for age-related wear, staining, creasing, lots of cracks in the lettering all over (hard to see the smaller cracks), fading, and edge wear as pictured. If you would like more pictures or information please don't hesitate to message me. I am including FREE SHIPPING & INSURANCE on this peice, it will require signature confirmation upon delivery at this price point.
