I am offering for sale a circa 1720 French Musketeer epee sword that dates to the reign of King Louis XV.  It is in excellent condition.  The wire wrapped grip is completely intact.  There are depictions of various military scenes and motifs on the pommel and the top and bottom of the clamshell guard.  There are traces of etchings on the blade.  It is similar to the form shown as figure 306A on page 181 of the authoritative French sword guide, Epees by Jean Lhoste. It measures 40 inches overall and the blade is 33 inches in length.
