Side A features a raised gold railroad spike in the center with the inscription "Summer Spike Commitment" in the inner field, surrounded by a blue enamel outer ring reading "Total Safety Culture." Side B reads "Union Pacific Houston Service Unit" in the inner gold field with a raised Houston skyline and locomotive motif, surrounded by a blue enamel ring with four quadrant tabs reading "Safety," "Service," "Value," and "Leadership."
