In addition to an 8 CD box set, Demon Records is pleased to announce a new 8 LP box set celebrating the studio albums released by Marc Bolan under the name "T. Rex". After recording as Tyrannosaurus Rex since the mid-1960s, frontman, lyricist, poet and guitarist Marc Bolan entered the new decade with a new sound, a new band and a new, shortened name - "T. Rex". In the process, he became Britain's first new superstar of the 1970s, launching a stunning series of hit singles and studio albums that showcased his tireless muse and genre-bending creativity.

The 1970 album T. Rex followed the chart success of Ride A White Swan and provided a sonic bridge between the sound of Tyrannosaurus Rex and a new electric glam that catapulted him to superstardom.

This was followed in 1971 with the timeless classic "Electric Warrior", a collection of classics such as "Life's A Gas", "Jeepster", "Get It On" and "Cosmic Dancer".

1972's "The Slider" was released at the height of T. Rex mania ("T. Rexstasy"!) and delivered two UK No. 1 singles with "Telegram Sam" and "Metal Guru", while 1973's "Tanx" pushed all the glam faders into the red with one of the most exciting rock albums of the decade.

On 1974's Zinc Alloy, Bolan's interest turned to a frenetic, more electric-soul-glam sound, with R&B influences like funky keyboards and the gospel-like "Cosmic Choir."

With 1975's "Bolan's Zip Gun," Bolan tapped into the zeitgeist and at times channeled his sound with a proto-punk, back-to-basics approach. 1976's beautiful "Futuristic Dragon" was a late T. Rex classic, a mature and confident collection of timeless hooks and effortless melodies (including the hit single "New York City").

Finally, other chart singles such as “I Love To Boogie” and “Light Of Love” as well as the last studio album before Bolan’s untimely death, “Dandy In The Underworld” from 1977, are still a reminder of a great talent that the music world lost far too soon.

All 8 albums in the collection are packaged in their own cover, each reproduced with original artwork and inner sleeves including song lyrics. “Bolan's Zip Gun” and “Dandy In The Underworld” each feature their original restored die-cut covers. Each album is pressed on different colored vinyl, half black and half colored.

The following studio albums are included in this collection:
- 1970 T. Rex ('Suneye' Orange/Black Vinyl)
- 1971 Electric Warrior ('Monolith' Gold/Black Vinyl)
- 1972 The Slider ('Mars' Red/Black Vinyl)
- 1973 Tanx ('Strange' Silver/Black Vinyl)
- 1974 Zinc Alloy ('Superbad' Blue/Black Vinyl)
- 1975 Bolan's Zip Gun ('Precious' Pink / Black Vinyl)
- 1976 Futuristic Dragon ('Dawn' Yellow / Black Vinyl)
- 1977 Dandy In The Underworld ('Moon' White / Black Vinyl)
