Features
With the all-in-one Celestron StarSense Autoguider V2, operating your telescope is now simpler and more enjoyable than before. This robust, little gadget attaches to your Celestron mount and offers precise, automatic autoguiding so you can effortlessly produce crisp, long-exposure photos. Adding this revolutionary addition will guarantee that you spend more time under the stars, regardless of your level of skill as an astroimager.
With a single button press, StarSense Autoguider V2 aligns your telescope to the night sky in around three minutes without requiring user input. The telescope is automatically orientated using Celestron's patented StarSense technology, which "sees" star patterns overhead and compares them to its internal database. You can concentrate on what really matters—observing and imaging—instead than having to deal with the inconvenience of manually aligning your telescope thanks to this function.
The pointing precision of Celestron's computerised mounts is already praised, but adding the StarSense Autoguider V2 improves your mount even further. Precise GoTo places celestial objects in the centre of the field rather than within the telescope's field of view, regardless of matter whether you're using a powerful eyepiece or the tiny image sensors of today.
One of the most thrilling things you can do with a telescope is take pictures of celestial objects. However, autoguiding—the ability to make minute changes to the mount's tracking to keep your object locked in over extended exposures—is necessary to take breathtaking deep-sky astroimages. Previous autoguiding configurations, which often required a separate autoguiding camera, a guidescope, and a computer, were intricate and costly. All of that is replaced by StarSense Autoguider V2, allowing even novices to fully immerse themselves in the field of imaging. While background stars appear like sharp pinpoints and are never oblong or streaky, your targets are clear and detailed.
For the majority of casual viewing and imaging, many users find that adding StarSense Autoguider V2 to their setup significantly increases accuracy to the point that they no longer need to polar align their German equatorial mounts. However, the autoguider significantly streamlines the polar alignment procedure if you desire the highest level of accuracy. You can finish a complete polar alignment in less than five minutes by only following the on-screen directions on the hand control or in the CPWI program.
Renowned optical designer Mark Ackermann created a superior 4-element optical design for the StarSense Autoguider V2. Compared to other mini-guidescopes, its distinctive design produces crisper images, which contributes to the most accurate autoguiding performance. Astronomical filters measuring two inches are fitted into the optical tube. Use a neutral density filter for daytime focussing or an IR-pass filter to align your mount at twilight.
In order to give outstanding guiding precision, the gadget additionally has an inbuilt microprocessor and a highly sensitive Sony IMX462-DLL monochrome CMOS image sensor. If you'd like, you can use your PC to view a live image from the camera.
A personalised dew shield is now included with every StarSense Autoguider V2 unit. The shield helps keep dew from building up on the objective lens's exterior when there is a lot of dew. Additionally, it blocks stray light by acting as a lens shade. Before imaging, just thread it onto the autoguider's front.
Advanced users will enjoy using CPWI's advanced settings to fine-tune their autoguiding setup. The mount can be moved slightly between camera sub-exposures by turning on dithering settings, which could improve the performance of your picture processing program.
CPWI can also be used to guide on a comet. Just choose the comet from the program's constantly updated database of over 100,000 astronomical objects. It will be more effective to guide directly on the comet rather than on adjacent stars.
The best part is that during the course of your StarSense Autoguider's lifetime, you can unlock more thrilling features like these. You will be able to get all future firmware updates thanks to your payment. With a straightforward firmware upgrade, you can always take advantage of the newest and greatest features that Celestron experts are continuously bringing to our equipment.
Compliant with your existing configuration
The way you operate your StarSense Autoguider is up to you. It can be used with your NexStar+ hand control, the SkyPortal Powered by SkySafari app (for WiFi equipped mounts), or CPWI telescope control PC software. For a seamless solution that complements your telescope setup flawlessly, the autoguider also integrates with the other Celestron accessories.
The majority of modern Celestron computerised mounts, both German equatorial and altazimuth, are compatible with StarSense Autoguider. For complete compatibility information, refer to the chart below.
