The Staten Island Rapid Transit Railway Co 1930s Train Excursion Ticket Sample
This listing features an original vintage two coupon railroad ticket sheet issued by The Staten Island Rapid Transit Railway Company. It is an unissued specimen consisting of both a red Return Coupon and a red Going Check Train Excursion Ticket Memorandum. Both sections feature a prominent blue stamped Sample marking across the lower portion. Based on the printed date options on the grid, this item dates to approximately 1932 or 1933. It bears the printed signature of General Traffic Agent E. W. Murray under Series RT. The station checklists on both coupons feature local borough stops including Tottenville, Atlantic, Richmond Valley, Pleasant Plains, Princes Bay, Huguenot Park, Annadale, Eltingville, Great Kills, Bay Terrace, Oakwood Heights, New Dorp, Grant City, Dongan Hills, Grasmere, Clifton, Stapleton, and St. George. A single processing punch hole is visible at the bottom of each section, and the reverse side is completely blank with the original perforation line fully intact. This represents a highly unique piece of pre-war New York rail history for ephemera collectors.
