You are bidding on a rare 1953 St. Louis Cardinals Opening Day baseball full ticket, not a stub. The Cardinals played the Chicago Cubs on Thursday, April 16, in the home opener that season. The game was a night game and the Cardinals won this game 3-0 at Sportsman's Park. Enos Slaughter hit a two-run HR in his last season with the Cards, Stan Musial had a hit and scored a run and Red Schoendienst had two hits. Harvey Haddix threw a complete game four-hit shutout and Dee Fondy had two hits for the Cubs. The ticket is in near mint condition overall with no bends, tears, soiling or paper loss. The ticket is oversized and very different from a normal regular season ticket. The Cardinals home schedule is on the back. I have seen examples of these oversize Cardinals Opening Day tickets before, but these are the first I've seen from 1953. Here's your chance to own a great St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Sportsman's Park and baseball memorabilia item. Ticket will be shipped in a postcard card sleeve and sent USPS Ground Advantage, insured, inside a padded shipping envelope. Check my positive feedback and bid with confidence.
