This hot plate is in good working condition.  It heats up just past the point where it should not be touched so it probably could warm up soup, etc.  It is gold and white color with wood end trim.  The surface is in good shape with a few scuff marks.  The bottom has one area where the wood was pushed in, but not an issue.  See photo.  Good solid cord.
