Phra Somdej Wat Rakang “Pim Than Saem” (Stepped Base with Intermittent Lines Mold)
This is a rare and revered Somdej Wat Rakang Buddha amulet, crafted in the “Pim Than Saem” mold, one of the distinctive and well-regarded variations from the original series created by Somdej Phra Buddhacarya (Toh Prommarangsi) in B.E.2400s (the Mid–Late 19th century), which this piece is from the old private collection of family, acquired before 1940 and passed down through the family lineage.
The Mold Type of this Than Saem (intermittent stepped base) is featuring clearly defined base lines that alternate in height and depth. The Surface has Natural aging with characteristic pores, crack lines, and patina indicating its authenticity. This particular mold is known for its strong presence, clear form, and meticulous craftsmanship, making it a prized addition to serious collections of Thai sacred amulets.
