Rare Lima South African SAR Blue Train Generator Coach 9319 Unboxed - HO Scale

Unboxed example from the highly collectable range of South African Railways model trains produced by Lima from the mid 1970s.

The Blue Train was a luxury sleeper service operating between Cape Town and Johannesburg. The generator car, which provided head-end power to the coaches, is a particularly sought-after model as an essential component of a Blue Train rake.

This particular example was an unboxed find, in generally fair condition.  Wheels and coupling hooks are rust-free, but roof and all sides have some marks to them or paint surface rubbed off as shown.  Roof would certainly benefit from a repaint.  The rarity of the model would make it well worth restoring for someone to add to their collection.
