When starting a pond, you will need to create a balanced eco-system for good bacteria to thrive and help to keep your pond water clean and clear. Our kit contains a range of natural eco-friendly non-chemical products which give your pond eco-system the kick-start it needs! Also for established ponds, following water replacement etc.
Containing various pond media and treatments, to give a natural annual ecosystem to your pond.
The kit contains:
500g Alfagrog E25 - Ceramic porous media for filtering and bacteria colonisation - stones up to 25mm.
250g Alfagrog E40 - Ceramic porous media for filtering and bacteria colonisation - stones up to 40mm.
250g Natural Pumice Stone - Offers similar porous media qualities to Alfagrog, but is natural and with more surface area for bacteria to colonise.
200g Zeolite stone - Ammonia Remover - Zeolite binds nitrates which is an effective ammonia remover for ponds and tanks.
200g Barley Pellets - Algae & Blanketweed Remover - The Barley Pellets offer the same treatment as traditional Barley Straw, releasing natural chemicals as they rot, to effectively prevent algae growth. Slow Release.
100g Barley Balls - Algae & Blanketweed Remover - The Barley Pellets offer the same treatment as traditional Barley Straw, releasing natural chemicals as they rot, to effectively prevent algae growth. Quick release over two weeks.
100g Bacteria Balls - These introduce helpful friendly bacteria, which colonises the above media. To maintain a good eco-system, it is important that bacteria colonises the porous media as this will create long-term bacteria colonies, which in turn make the pond self-sufficient.
100g Algae Balls - These introduce bacteria to help break down existing and stifle growth of new algae in your pond water. Especially effective with 'green water'.
100g Sludge Removal Balls - These have a bacteria which helps to liquidify organic waste in your pond so that it is naturally filtered or broken down. Such as leaves, excess fish food and waste.
Supplied in one large mesh bag, approx 40cm x 30cm, but all media each bagged separately within in zip bags. So that the kit can either be submerged as one, or separated as required. The bacteria and barely balls come supplied in grip seal bags which can be removed and the balls tipped directly into the water or kit bag.
