Both volumes of the Eighth Congress as photographed.
The first Session begun on October 17th 1803.
The second session begun 5th 1804.
The first session appears to be the worn original quarter sheep binding over boards with the likely original leather label. The front cover is now missing. The text shows some general browning and wear. With a hand written inscription by Harry Remsen to Mr Hodgman Jan 26th 1867. With 344 pages of text and XX pages of indices.
The second session was probably bound in the mid 19th C in quarter calf over boards. The text is cleaner and brighter in this volume.
With 216 pages of text plus the appendix which is XVIII pages.
Then there are 140 additional pages with the impeachments as shown.
Both volumes are formerly from the Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland with some markings, stamps, blind stamps etc.
