EDMOND HAMILTON Lot of 5 –
STARWOLF 1, 2, 3 THE STAR KINGS, CRASHING SUNS
I asked Google AI about the
author, and it had a LOT to say…
Edmond Hamilton (1904-1977) was a prolific writer best known for pioneering the space opera subgenre of science fiction. As a foundational figure in early sci-fi, he often wrote "super-science" stories and contributed significantly to pulp magazines like Weird Tales, occasionally exploring horror, fantasy, detective/crime fiction, and superhero fiction. In the more mature phase of his career, Hamilton moved away from the romantic and fantastic elements of his earlier fiction to create some unsentimental and realistic stories, such as "What's It Like Out There?" (Thrilling Wonder Stories, December 1952), his single most frequently-reprinted and anthologized work.
Notable works include The Star
Kings (1947), City at World's End (1951), and the Starwolf
series. Hamilton’s writing style was
noted for its romantic and adventurous feel, heavily influencing the
development of sci-fi in literature and media.
Hamilton’s first space opera sequence starting with THE STAR KINGS is a reworking of THE PRISONER OF ZENDA, while Return to the Stars is a fix-up of four stories: "Kingdoms of the Stars", "The Shores of Infinity", "The Broken Stars" and "The Horror from the Magellanic".

ABOUT THE SCIENCE FICTION BOOKS I AM CURRENTLY SELLING...
You won’t be disappointed! These are from a single science fiction fan's collection of THOUSANDS of (alphabetically filed by author!) vintage fantasy adventure science fiction books recently purchased from a long-term, climate-controlled storage facility. All the books are clean and odor-free. As far as I can tell, he bought the books, read them once, and then stored them. Most of the material was collected between the 1960s and when the storage container was sealed around 2004. A few of the books appear to have been purchased used/read, but the vast majority were purchased new. I use flash photography, so much of the white you see on edges is flash.
If you have any questions, or want additional photographs, please ask. Please see my recent book sales feedback and buy with confidence! All sales are final.
