Vintage Nautical Ensign United States flag featuring a red canton, thirteen white stars, and a central fouled anchor embroidered in cotton.  The Nautical flag was created by Roger Upton and Charles Chapman and officially adopted in 1848 and is flown to signal to other that the boat is commanded by an active member of the United States Power Squadrons. The red canton and double white tridents indicate Squadron Lieutenant. This vintage flag is 15"x 23" and comes with the original mahogany pole.
