Hi there and welcome to my listing for this beautiful Dalmore Blue hone produced by Tam O Shanter Hone Works in Ayrshire, Scotland. The last of mines closed around 40 years ago and as such these stones are no longer produced or marketed. The photos in this listing are of the stone both wet and dry. Enthusiasts say these give a comparable finish to around a 3-5k synthetic stone when the edge is observed under a microscope.

Description of Whetstone
***
This one has the beautiful swirling patterns. Really the kind of patterning you want with a Dalmore Blue. Some were very plain although perform just as well.
Condition of Whetstone
***
This stone is unused and is New Old Stock. It has some tiny chips at the corners but is perfect otherwise.

The last picture is a map I’ve made of the various mines where Tam O Shanter Hone Works sourced their stone. This will make a beautiful sharpening stone that you will treasure for life.

The dimensions and weight are as follows:

Length: 126mm
Width: 35mm
