A hand blown purple and white glass perfume bottle by Mtarfa glass. This bottle is made of marbled white glass encased in purple and clear glass to give a mottled appearance. It is almost bell shaped with a wide flat bottom that domes up to a small neck with a large flared rim that shows off the contrasting white glass. It is topped with a dop shaped stopper in matching purple, white and clear glass. The bottom has been signed Mtarfa. The exact hue of the purple changes in different lights, with a slightly bluer colour in daylight and a redder purple under bright artifical light.

Mtarfa glass was founded in 1979 by Paul Said on the island of Malta in the Mediterranean, which is often reflected in the colours and style of the glass. It is still currently operating under the name Valetta Glass and continues to produce high quality art glass pieces.

This is a vintage item and so may show signs of its previous life. Overall this perfume bottle is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Due to the hand made nature of this bottle, there are some bubbles/ imperfections in the glass. Please see photos for details.
