The Jeannette Glass Company of Jeannette, Pennsylvania began production of this beautiful floral pattern in 1931 and continued through 1935. The pattern is called "Floral" but is also known as "Poinsettia". It is a great pattern and has been highly collected over the years. There are even rare pieces that turn up in England and many have ground bottoms. Yes, some Depression Glass was shipped overseas. Offered today is the two-piece candy dish: the bottom jar part and the lid. The lid is the same lid that fits the sugar bowl - FYI. I would say that this piece is neither easy nor difficult to find - kind of medium or in-between. The contrast of shapes is very ART DECO - the paneled base or body, the rayed and footed bottom, the round lid, the pointed finial... The floral pattern also give us a bit of Art Nouveau. This example is in EXCELLENT USED CONDITION with no chips, no cracks, and no damage. You will not find a nicer piece out there. Please see all of the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase. You will really be pleased with this great candy jar!!
