This Mitutoyo 5" to 6" micrometer it is a pretty solid mic.  Everything functions as it should.  The faces of the carbide are good, the lock works, the ratchet spindle slips in the correct direction and grabs in the correct direction, and the spindle rotates freely.  There is no  case.  The resolution on this micrometer is .0001".

This micrometer is a properly working measuring instrument being sold at a very good price.
