Offered here is an exceptional antique Santo carved in South America during the early to mid 18th century. Crafted in polychrome wood, the statue displays the gentle wear and minor paint loss expected of a devotional object of this age. Despite its long history the santo remains in amazing condition, structurally sound, and complete with no missing limbs.  The carving shows elegant proportions and a serene presence, making it a compelling example for collectors of religious art, Spanish Colonial pieces, or early devotional sculpture.
