Starrett Bi-metal Band Saw Blade for Versatile Fine Cuts. The Die Pro bi-metal band saw blades manufactured by Starrett are custom welded and come as a 100-feet long stock coil. The blade with a toothed edge is made of M42 category triple-tempered high-speed steel (HSS) alloy with more cobalt content (8%). The red hardness provided by this combination increases the cutting speed and efficiency, thereby reducing the labor. The bi-metal blade has an HSS-made toothed edge, which is attached to an alloy steel backing. The toothed edge and the flexible backing are welded together using an electron-beam welding process. This bi-metal construction of the blade allows you to have perfect cuts. Also, the design prevents breakage. Moreover, this blade assures resistance against wear and tear, heat generation, shock, and any kind of abrasion, which immensely extends the blade life. The hook-type teeth have a positive rake angle that makes the teeth more pointed and sharper, reduces cutting force, and causes greater machinability. This row of pointed teeth easily cuts through ferrous or non-ferrous materials. Starrett Die Pro bi-metal blade is highly effective on various light-duty horizontal or vertical machines. This blade can make fine cuts on stainless steel, carbon steels, die and mold steels, lower alloys, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The band saw blade can be employed for general-purpose sawing, contour sawing, production cutting, maintenance activities, etc. in machining facilities, tool rooms, and shop floors.
