I'm not entirely sure what it's for, so most of this is speculation.
This 6101 series ISA "Replay Card" has only been tested to the extent that it will boot in a machine and shows no shorts. No further functional testing of the telephony or IVR functions has been carried out, so it is being sold as for parts or not working.
This is a full-length ISA 16-bit add-on card marked ASSY NO. 6101-40 and identified as a 6101 Series Replay Card. Based on the labels, connectors and supporting information, it appears to be a proprietary telephony / IVR board from a mid-1990s commercial 486-based appliance. The host machine reportedly had COMLINK software installed and optical drives, consistent with an interactive voice response system used to store and play back audio prompts to telephone callers.
Notable ICs fitted include an OKI M82C55A-2 programmable peripheral interface, two IDT 7201 LA50TP FIFOs for buffered audio data streaming, an LM837N quad low-noise op-amp in the analogue audio path, a Philips 74HCT597N, and a Dallas QFP chip on sub-board 6101-45.J10. PCB markings referenced on this board family include sub-boards 6101-41 through 6101-45, along with MOD 1-9 configuration positions.
Connections visible on the card include a DB9 RS-232 bracket connector, blue IDC ribbon connectors to the host system, and JST-style headers labelled for Speaker, Phones, Line Out, Volume and Keyswitch. The board is also marked Replay Card on the PCB.
Included is the card shown in the photos only. No additional cables, manuals or software are included.
I'm here to help - so feel free to contact me for pre-sales advice and guidance, to verify any details or to show off your builds!
If you have a particular retro game you are hoping to play, or other specific requirements, I'm usually happy to do additional testing and I regularly do custom orders and builds so you can be sure things are fit for purpose.
All photography is of the actual item you will receive and screenshots are taken during the testing process. I use automated tooling to help fill in item specifics, so please do contact me if any details feel wrong.
If you want free cables or other odds and ends (e.g. IDE cable, SATA power adaptor), I am usually happy to include them - just leave a note during purchase.
If you need drivers, please contact me in advance. Sometimes I can provide them, sometimes I can't.
I package things carefully, with sensitive components in anti-static bags and guarantee same day dispatch if ordered before ~2pm on weekdays, and more often than not outside of that time frame too.
