Interesting Stringed Instrument, the Bulbul Tarang ("Indian Banjo"), made by Giansco. Box measures 23-3/8" long x 4-3/4" wide x 3-1/2" tall. Snap-clasps on one side along with a red handle.
Good vintage condition, though we really don't know much about the instrument. It plays when strummed and the numbered keys do change the sound. The lone string (closest to the player) does seem slack and doesn't give much of a sound. The instrument is old and will need some attention/tuning in order to sound its best. Box is in pretty nice shape, some nicks and scratches consistent with age.
