A large freeform Whitby Jet pendant on an 18" twisted curb chain. I collected the Jet from a beach around Whitby and shaped and polished it. The Jet features the wood grain pattern to one size. Approx size 32mm x13 mm x 4mm at biggest measurements.
All silver is recycled.
Whitby Jet is a rare, organic, and deep-black gemstone formed from fossilized Monkey Puzzle tree wood approximately 180 million years ago, found on the North Yorkshire coast. It is prized for its lightweight, warm touch, and ability to take a high polish. It is famously associated with Victorian mourning jewelry.
