Description
A lovely antique Victorian solid 12k gold Old Mine Cut diamond stick pin and collar stud combination, dating to circa 1890 and presented in its original fitted Jays of Oxford Street, London box.
This beautiful antique Victorian solid 12k gold stick pin also converts to a collar stud by unscrewing the stick pin head and fitting the diamond onto the collar button, the pin has a very pretty eight-prong-set Old Mine Cut diamond which glitters like starlight, the diamond in a raised white gold (or platinum) open crown form gallery, the remainder of the diamond setting and the top of the stick pin as well as the stud button are solid 12k yellow gold while the pin is solid 12k rose gold with twisted decorations along the body for gripping fabric-just delightful! The stick pin comes with its original fitted Victorian box from the famous Victorian diamond merchants, Jays of Oxford Street, London (established 1796). The stick pin is unmarked and XRF tests for 12k gold.
The stick pin measures about 2 1/4 inches long. The stud, from the base of the screw to the top of the diamond, is approximately 8mm. The stud button measures about 10.5mm across. The diamond measures about 4mm x 4mm. The stick pin and stud button together weigh approximately 2.45 grams.
The stick pin is in excellent condition with all over general light wear. The diamond has only very minor wear around a few facets. All the screw threads to the three pieces are strong and work well. The box is in very good condition with all over general wear, it opens and closes well.

TERMS OF SALE & RETURNS
We make great efforts to honestly and accurately describe each item we list. We back this up with many photographs, all with a close-up zoom option for detailed inspection. Due to the majority of our items being antique/vintage and often unique it can be difficult to determine age and as such all our items are sold 'as is'. However, if we are not certain about the age of an item we will either not mention an age or say the item is being sold as a later or modern piece and then leave it up to more experienced buyers to determine the exact age. Items are not returnable if it was not of the age/value you were hoping it to be with no exceptions. If we place a date on an item we guarantee it to be of that period or earlier. If you require further pictures or more information about an item, please let us know prior to bidding or purchase. Items cannot be returned for any condition issues either shown in the pictures or mentioned in the listing. As many items we sell are one hundred years or older we will not accept returns for wear consistent with the item's age. Any item mentioned as sold 'as is' in the listing will not be eligible for any form of return or refund. If it is determined an item is eligible for a return, the item must be shipped back within 48 hours, insured and tracked. A restocking fee may apply. We are very easy to work with and welcome any and many questions during our listings, so please let us know if you have one! Thanks again for looking!
