Hettier & Vincent

A nice pair of small French art deco wall sconces in clear frosted molded-pressed glass. Made around 1930 by Hettier et Vincent. The prestigious shop in Paris of the businessmen Louis Hettier and Calixte Vincent. The shades were produced by Verreries des Hanots. The two HetV knobs that fixate the shade to the iron mount can be seen in the 1928 HetV product catalog. And the sconce is represented  as item #8857.

The sconces are 16,5 cm high and 18,5 cm wide. They are 9,5 cm deep. The wall lights are in very good condition.  Some tiny chips to the glass, normal for 100 y/o shades and they hardly show with the wall lights in place. The various models Hanots bowls that were cut in two for Hettier et Vincent to use for sconces always have tiny chips where the shades were cut. One of the two shades is signed Hettier & Vincent France. I re-nickeled the solid brass mounts and knobs. And the sconces are rewired with an American candelabra base socket. For European countries I will place E14 ones.
