be seen in the precisely cut avian design in the upper layer of silver, and in
the finely textured and deeply oxidized lower layer of silver. The
slightly convex pendant measures ⅞ x ¾ inch (excluding the pendant loop). The back is stamped with
the rattle hallmark of Lauren Koinva. The silver content is not marked. Shipping

Koinva is an award-winning Hopi silversmith. He learned smithing from
Bernard Dawahoya. His grandfather is renowned Hopi silversmith Paul
Saufkie. Lauren’s work is described in major publications on the art form,
including Bassman (1993), Wright (2000) and Schaaf (2012), and is worn and
collected worldwide by lovers of fine Native American jewelry.
