One-off custom project based on my 2008 KTM 690 SMC, owned by me from new, professionally built by the late Gavin Goddard of GIA Engineering. I have spent over £8000 on this project so far and was originally building it for the Bike shed show.
The bike features a fully fabricated aluminium swingarm, structural twin-shock subframe and hand-made alloy fuel tank, with the swingarm designed to run an under-engine exhaust routed through the swingarm area. High-end components include Nitron twin shocks, Maxton fork cartridges (forks shortened and set up by Maxton), Woodcraft clip-ons, a carbon fibre race seat for a KTM RC390, Race Component Development billet dual fuel filler cap, Brembo nickel plated rear caliper and K&N air filter. It also includes a Harris paddock stand, standard exhaust to assist with MOT if required, and an unused set of Continental SM tyres. All parts removed from bike are included.
Powered by a punchy 654cc single-cylinder engine capable of producing over 70bhp with a race exhaust, and combined with the lightweight custom chassis, the bike has the potential to be a very quick, responsive and great handling machine when completed.
The bike is an unfinished project and not currently running as no electrics are fitted; the engine was running prior to strip-down, the tank is in raw alloy ready for finishing, and the frame has been modified so cannot be returned to standard. It will require rearsets, a custom exhaust, and fabrication of a box to house the electrics and properly mount the seat (the seat in the photos is only resting in place to show how it will look). The original wiring loom is included and all connectors were labelled during removal to make reassembly easier.
Viewing is welcome and I am happy to answer any questions.
Sold as seen, collection only, with bank transfer on collection. A rare opportunity to complete a unique one-off engineered custom build.
