Hardcover volumes bound in textured light-colored cloth over the front cover and black buckram on the spine and rear cover. Gilt title over spine. Cloth of spine is faded, most pronounced on Volume I. Decorative purple stains to top edges are also lightly faded near spine. Else, no notable wear to exteriors. Edges of text block are clean, corners are sharp, spines are straight, bindings are firm, and hinges and joints are taut.

Interiors are immaculate. Crisp clean pages. No foxing, toning, tears, wrinkles, stains, or marks. 

Both volumes are housed together in a slipcase matching the front boards. Slipcase shows a bit of discoloration, but is otherwise sturdy, clean, and sound.
