Here is a rare, early, antique pocket match safe made of hand-stitched, waxed leather.
It dates from the middle of the 19th century.
There is some tiny writing on the outside of the case, but I was unable to decipher it.
This item comes with the original, antique (inactivated) wooden matches (Lucifers) with which it was found.
It measures 3- 3/4 inches long, by 3/4 inches thick.

This item is in excellent, used antique, condition with no damage or repairs. Just some scuffing and wear consistent with its age and use. (See photos).
