Offering an EARLY Vintage PYREX "Primary Blue" #401 Mixing / Nesting Bowl that was produced between 1945 - 1949. This 1.5 pint capacity bowl is SUBSTANTIAL, is made of a thicker opalite glass and has a slightly flared base. PERFECT! for completing a stack or for everyday use.
The base is marked "TMG REG. ~ PYREX ~ U.S. PAT. OFF." The model number (#401) and capacity (1 1/2 Pint) are missing from the base. Overall this is in GOOD VINTAGE Condition demonstrating typical signs of wear that are commensurate with use and storage over time.
The OUTSIDE of the bowl remains BRIGHT and SHINEY. There is NO EVIDENCE of dishwasher damage. There are a markings and areas of small scratches to the exterior color that are visible when held up to bright light, as demonstrated in photos.
The INSIDE of this bowl is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, demonstrating very minor and gentle signs of use from over time. There are a few very light gray markings from silverware use.
A few flaws worth noting: as demonstrated in photos, there is an area of color missing on the rim of the bowl that looks like it is a chip ~ it is not. Also, there is a light gray area line of color on the inside of the bowl, from the rim downward. There is no crack associated with this. This is a flaw that is original to the creation of the bowl. (When held and flicked, the bowl has a perfect ring.) Aside from these noted flaws, there are NO chips, knicks or cracks of any kind. No fleabite knicks. And as stated above, NO EVIDENCE of dishwasher damage.
This measures 5.75" diameter, 3.25" in height and weighs 1lb.
This is a previously owned item that does demonstrate signs wear from either use or from storage over the years. PLEASE review ALL PHOTOS as they will provide the most accurate representation of the item that is listed for sale.
