Retro Ford/FPV FG FGX Falcon Illuminated Switch Assembly Controls – OEM Style Plug and Play Upgrade

Please note: All controls come with the Voice button as the MK2 model. This will not affect any other controls if you have a MK1 and will still work as normal.

Direct plug and play replacement for the factory buttons, no wiring or splicing required. Uses a smart voltage sensing micro circuit so the backlighting only runs when the alternator is charging.

They plug straight into the factory clock spring and retain all existing functions including audio, phone and cruise control, There is no cutting, soldering or splicing of any wiring.

The backlighting switches on automatically when the alternator reaches charging voltage and switches off when the engine is off and voltage drops. This keeps the system simple and avoids any illegal wiring modifications. The controls are built to full OEM spec and match the original shape and feel so they look like they came from the factory. The only visual change is the illumination, since the original FG controls do not light up at all.

If you have a low battery or voltage issue, these will not illuminate or could flash which is a sign of not enough voltage to the controls.

• When pressing the horn the illumination will turn off and turn back on, this is due to them using the horn power.

Installation Overview
1. Disconnect the battery before removing the airbag or steering wheel.
2. Remove the airbag and disconnect the airbag plugs.
3. Remove the steering wheel and mark alignment.
4. Remove original controls using the two Torx screws on each side.
5. Install new controls, plug in and secure.
6. Refit steering wheel and airbag with wiring routed neatly.
7. Reconnect battery and test.

FAQ And Troubleshooting

– Buttons not responding
Check plugs are fully seated and no pins are bent. Ensure vehicle is FG FGX and not BA BF.

– Backlight not working
Check the ground wire behind the steering wheel. Confirm alternator is charging.

– Lights flashing
Indicates low or unstable voltage. FG and FGX are voltage sensitive. Check battery and
alternator health.

– Airbag will not sit correctly
Ensure wiring is routed exactly as factory. Compare with a photo taken before disassembly.
