The Unobtanium is a mother synthesis of three iconic sound sources: a legendary overdrive (K-side) meets two legendary D-style amps (D-side). Here, transparent boost, tube-like compression and full overdrive merge into a versatile powerhouse for your pedalboard.
The right section (K side) recreates the classic overdrive character in great detail - from a subtle cleaner that boosts your signal more intelligently to rich headroom overdrive. The treble control works actively and allows cut or boost, while the volume control provides up to enormous level reserves. Two toggle switches give you the choice between buffer or true bypass as well as stock or mod mode for increased output and transparency.
The left section (D side) emulates two Dumble voicings: SSS (soft-compressed overdrive) and ODS (strong, harmonically rich overdrive). “Emphasis” lets you control the presence and bass foundation before distortion, while the Tone control fine-tunes the treble range. Volume and gain round out the control over this section. You can switch between the D voicings using the optional footswitch (XT, sold separately) - ideal for live use.
Particularly clever: a passive series effects loop allows you to loop in other pedals between the K and D sections or use the two sides completely separately. Internally, the pedal works with 18 V boost for more headroom and an open sound - but it is powered with 9 V. Thanks to the relay-controlled true bypass, your signal remains unadulterated when the pedal is switched off.
