Mount St. Helens in 1942. In 1980 she blew her top. She no longer looks like this rare fond photo. This vintage picture was taken in 1942 by Harold A Deery.  Harold A Deery hiked, camped and researched around Mount St. Helens with Lloyd William Taylor back in those days. Taylor would later loose his life in the winter of 1948. Mount St Helens blew her top on May 18, 1980. This picture is how she looked for many years prior to 1980.
