Light up your collection with this exceptional Bakelite "permanent match" (aka eternal/lifetime match safe) match striker from Moorhead Knitting Company, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania! A true Art Deco era gem promoting their innovative "Monoknit M-O-Knit-Toe Socks", seamless wonders for the sock-loving 1920s man.
- Authentic Bakelite Construction: Iconic black thermoset plastic. Rectangular cylinder 1 5/8" tall, just over 1" wide.
- Branding: Front etched with profile of a Moor's head, back etched with "Monoknit MO-Knit-Toe Socks" lettering on top, "MOORHEAD KNITTING COMPANY Incorporated, Harrisburg PA" on bottom.
- Working Mechanism: Pull striker rod, dip in lighter fluid/charcoal lighter, strike on ribbed edge for reliable flame.
- Textile Tie-In: Harrisburg's Moorhead made quality knit socks pre-nylon era. Ultra-rare promo piece, likely salesman giveaway or factory store swag.
Condition: Good antique condition, no damage. Solid, cap tight, striker functional but aged; surface scratches/patina expected for survivor. I haven't tried to clean or polish it.
