  • These are OBW Rolls = Original Bank Wrapped

Good to collect or give them out for tips to your favorite servers. Perfect for giving to Children / Grandchildren for minor chores while teaching them to save.

Rolls may be a different color than shown in the pics as they came from different banks at different times.
Please remember that these rolls are only wrapped in paper from the bank and can break open in the mail.
we do our best to secure them with bubble wrap.

We have had a lot of luck searching through rolls of these as on average they yield 3-5, 1776-1976 Bicentennial half dollars and even 40% and 90% silver halves at times + many errors, proofs and rares.

Pics are stock or ai pics.  I cannot promise you will find silver or errors but you will have fun trying.

    • D&B Coin

OBW Rolls are circulated coinage that comes in from banks and retailers then wrapped in a facility.  These are not new single date Mint Wrapped Rolls.  They are circulated coins.
These coins come from the public, you never know what is inside until you open it.

      Common Error Types
      • Die Clashes: Where dies touch without striking metal, causing raised lines or "spikes" on the coin (e.g., around Kennedy's head).
      • Doubled Dies (DDO/DDR): Doubling of date, mint mark, or lettering, like the 1974-D "TRUST" doubling.
      • Grease-Filled Dies/Die Chips: Faint or missing details due to grease or chips in the die, like the "No FG" error (Frank Gasparro's initials).
      • Clipped Planchets/Off-Center Strikes: Irregular shapes or strikes partially off the coin's surface.
      • Rotated Dies: The reverse design is rotated relative to the obverse (e.g., 1988-P).
      • Struck-Throughs: Metal struck through foreign material (grease, cloth, etc.).
Key & Valuable Errors by Year/Type
      • 1965-1970: Silver-clad planchets accidentally used for regular strikes (look for copper edge strip).
      • 1971-D: Double Strike (off-center).

      • 1974-D: Doubled Die Obverse (DDO).
      • 1976 (Bicentennial): Silver planchets used for regular issues (check edges).
      • 1979-S Proof: "Filled S" mint mark (blurry 'S') vs. "Clear S" (clearer 'S').
      • 1981-S Proof: Flat/Bulbous "S" mint mark.
      • 1998-S: Matte Proofs from special mint strikes (SMS).
