This signed card was recently purchased from the estate of former Hillsborough County, Florida Firefighter Rick Suarez. Rick was a collector of signatures from a very young age. The first autograph he every obtained was that of Jimi Hendrix at a concert in Tampa. Rick who was 14 at the time found out which hotel Hendrix was staying at. A relative drove him to the hotel and Rick was able to get Hendrix' signature on a piece of paper.

As Rick grew, so did his passion for signatures and being able to meet the stars and develop a rapport with them. This collection was his lifelong hobby. Some firemen would go on business trips but Rick would learn where his favorite stars would be and head out for an autograph. Others learned of his passion and teased him, calling him “The Stalker'" which was a well earned name. However, Rick never did it for any other reason but for his love of all the music, sports, and people in general. He believed that if he had survived brain cancer, he would still be out for the excitement of it all.
